NEWS: Online Fundraising: Wider Use, But Modest Return 

Giving USA conducted a recent study of online giving in the “public-society benefit subsector.” The highlights:

·        Nearly half the organizations invite online donations – though most do little more than a “Give Now” button;

·        Online donations account for less than 5 percent of all gifts and 12 percent of all individual gifts;

·        But 10 percent of the organizations receive 50 percent or more of their donations from individuals online.

Lipman Hearne and the American Marketing Association surveyed large organizations and small to arrive at not-very-startling conclusions (e.g., building awareness and generating revenues are top priorities).
